Didnt end up going to Picasso.
Retail therapy instead!! :D

I used a Borders gift voucher from Deanie to get the two books.
I also bought a map of Australia and a Map of the World for another blank spot on my wall. I already had New Zealand and I cant find a "matching" one of Ireland but I did find a high res image online I could print at work.
A bit of inspiration perhaps?
That little SATC box there is actually a perfume - Only $17 for 100ml!!
There are three perfumes all together and they smell really decent. I'll pick up the other two in coming weeks.
Oh that SATC book... *love* It can now sit with my pink crocodile hardcover book to the series. That book shows ALL the dress changes in the movie and a brief story of the movie all in big colour glossy goodness :D

Oh and in an answer to my smarty pants friend Oonagh where I initially said 'No'... I can now say 'Yes' :P
I have a few questions about the accomodation....
Do you have a check-out time? - Yes.
Do you provide secure luggage storage? - Yes
Do you have a travel desk where we can book activities and onward legs of our journey? - YES!

HAHAHA!

Tonite now I am off to my Dads to watch Austrlia V France.
The next game is in Brisbane next Saturday night but I will have Pre-count. Or is it Sunday the game? I really should check?

Kidneys for brekkie tomorrow morning :D YUM!

So I had a great Australis Day yesterday.

Started with the 10,000 Steps Walk which was actually 2,700 steps dawdle. Was an ok walk... just a bit slow. We finished it pretty quick withing the top 30 (out of a couple of hundred) but it was good to get out.

After that and getting home, I started to get ready to go to Nyssa's for her Australia Day BBQ. I arrived there about 11.30ish armed with my carton of Bundy and Drys, honey and rosemary lamb kebab sticks and almost 15ltrs of water.
Started off with all good intentions to get though at least HALF of my 24 cans, but them mixed with 'Death Punch' and a few mouthfuls of the 'King Cup' I only drank 7!! HAHA.
Oh and keep in mind I left about 7pm and was in bed for 9pm. I'd had my fill though!

Today at work was unbelievably dead! I made the most of it though getting as many sales as I could. I will be 1st for the month.

Oh and dinner just now was delicious! Ive never made couscous before and I didnt measure the water properly but it turned out perfect! I was very pleased! There is plenty left over for me for dinner tomorrow night :D

Oh Zeke seems to have a bit of a rash about his hind legs... better keep an eye on that over the next few days.

Nice enough day off.

Woke up about 8am and started about my day.

Found out the dishwasher hose or something leaked out ALL the water under the kitchen cupboards and into my room. The carpet is all soaked and this has then soaked into my suitcase of clothes, laptop backpack and into the base of my drawers.
This will start to smell in the next day or so. Im pretty pissed about it. As I was told - accidents happen - but still...

Went to Indro about 10.30 and had a quick catch up with Karen at HNs.
Went about the shops and got my anklet refixed (the latch broke last week and I got it fixed at Prouds, then at aqua the other night a joining link broke so I got that fixed a second time for free). I went to Target and bought some 3/4 pants for tomorrow for only $17. I looked at new swim tops but no joy.

Caught the train to Nyssa's, picked up some lamb for tomorrow (currently marinating in rosemary and honey). Helped format Nyssa's PC and watched about 5 episodes of The Hills (as well as other varios MTV/Foxtel shows)

Nikki picked me up about 6pm and we went to get Subway.

Tomorrow is the 10,000 Walk in the morning and then Nyssa's for BBQ, Hottest 100 and drinks all arvo/night.

Things to do tonite:
1) Shave legs
2) Charge camera
3) Skewer meat
4) wash clothes.

Went to Gambaros for dinner last night with Deanie and her friend Michelle.
Was nice.. mm mmmm!
I had tiger prawn and sea scallop rissoto... was delishious but I didnt eat it all! At least I ate all the seafood out of it. Deanie and I shared a nice bottle of white too.

Before and after dinner we had a few drinks at the Caxton.
I was home for 11pm - work today.

72... Global Wagamamas 72

Well well well.

Last night I went out for dinner with the gals from past and present HN Brisbane City. There was Trish, Heather, Kass, Vicky and myself.
We had dinner at Waggamamas in the Wintergarden and I was SO delighted that it is the exact same menu (right down to the wasabi chocolate mud cake) and I was able to get my ol' fave #72 (yasai katsu curry - slices of sweet potato, eggplant, zucchini and butternut squash deep fried in crispy panko breadcrumbs, served with a light curry sauce and japanese-style rice. garnished with mixed leaves and red pickles). Mm mmm
After a few bottles of white and many many laughs and old memories, we headed to the Cri(terion)... thinking it would be jammers... Yeah right! We had one drink there and decided to choof on to the casino!
What a BLAST! There were so many different people to laugh at! Watching old people dance is just hilarious! But I tell you what - I remember when you had to dress up to go to the casino... and last night we saw several people in trakkies and even a group of kids in their seniors jerseys!
Made friends with many drunkards and we all skipped out there about 1am for our homes. Naturally, I called Ireland. Different people this time.

Work today and I was struggling! But it was worth it! I finally did my first Flexirent today! Ahh I could feel the gold running through my veins! It was a good feeling :D :P

Tonite Nikki and I have finished watching The Wind that Shakes the Barley - again I sooked at the end. Then we donned a face mask (not a comical one - but a beauty one) each and got ready to watch Little Miss Sunshine which was really sweet. Oh - both with a rum each ;)

Now Im ready for bed... work tomorrow!

Mixing drinks at midday.

I had a great relaxing day with my friend Jade. Well lunch actually.

I met up with her at midday at the Regatta at Toowong and I had a yummy salmon fillet dish and Jade had sandcrab linguinie. Mmm mmm.
All washed down with a white wine, Sweet strongbow and a Bundy Rum draft. Yummo.

Went to Indro and bought a top for dinner tonite and I got a free waxing strip sampler... Heh.

Meeeemoriesss

So I had this customer in Cork. He was pretty good looking and would come in to see me often.
Oonagh you may know of him, I did up a new VAT invoice for him (but I know he never came in for it in the end). ANYWAYS him and his girlfriend are in Australia at the moment travelling, and Im hoping that my made-up statistics that 3 out of 4 relationships crumble while abroad, will come to fruition (except for Deanies and Oonaghs and Gemmas - and anyone else I like).
I emailed him last night... just asking where they are, how they are, and when they're coming to Brisbane etc etc and I got a lenghty reply. They'll be here early next year! Can't wait!
On even MORE exciting news, Oonagh and her fiiiiaanceeee Kieran will be here in Late June/Ealy July CAN. NOT. WAIT!!

Work staff meeting tonite... a quarterly one. Im #1 for the month in target achievement. So that cool... If I keep this up I'll get a 2% profit spiv at the end of the month.

Tomorrow I am having lunch with my friend Jade at the Regatta and dinner tomorrow night with Heather and Trish.

Back to Cork, Ive been reading back over my old entries... the days leading up to when I left... all my nights out with Oonagh, Eimear and others, all my boy friends (I use that term loosely)... Im really missing the place all over again. I was even on Google Earth last night looking at Cork city, and my old places I lived, and work, where I walked to the bus each morning, Washington St, Grand Parade... made me really miss it alright!

Flexi do, Birthday wishes and ch-ch-ch-changes

Evening there readers.

Well. Today was a lot better - especially being all rehydrated and rested.

Last night I went to a Flexirent do to launch a new product of theirs. Being Flexirent... they had a full free bar going! Eugh WHY was I so hung over?! I managed a couple of white wines and several cokes.
They had the BEST finger food going as well!
I stuck around long enough to hear what the new products were and left.
The people I work with still shit me with their loudness and obnoxiousness... mix that with alcohol?! Oh boy!

Tonite I have just called Ireland to say Happy Birthday to my friend, Oonaghs, fiance, Kieran. He sounded SO happy to hear me! Ha bless!
Its so wierd talking to some of my friends now cause I never knew how much of an accent they actually had... Bad Robert is easy to understand but Kierans sounded so strong and thick!
Its annoyed me at work too when I cant pick where an Irish accent is from :( Im losing my touch!

After reading [info]gargy's post about changing his lj layout from S1 to S2... I decided to do the same... so go check it out! Ive feel compelled to go back and add tags to entries now and subjects... Ive tried to be a bit funny/creative with them...

You know... I always have a little giggle when Sonya or Darryl say "...see you next Tuesday..." on Dancing With The Stars. Heh.

Nikki made a really nice roast lamb tonite.

DRUNKIES!!!

Oct. 8th, 2007

Been a while...

Well I see I havent done a real update in a while... so here goes...

The week and a bit that was...

SO I am now back at work. 3 days a week are ok but Im already itching for more. Its like I never left. There are 6 or 7 people that are still there from when I left in August 2005. A lot of the new people act very young and are very in their own click. Thats ok if Im not in it... means I get more work done and less dossing (Irish for bludging/slacking)
But Brisbane City is such a HUGE difference to Cork (Im talking HN - not the city). The information, the morale, the banter on the floor, the lack of fear... its so stressless!

Zeke is now back from being at the kennels (with Jam while Nikki was in Sydney for a few more days). Both the dogs think they are in utter heaven! They get chicken carcasses, chicken necks, dog bones and treats! Zeke is looking really really good! He's delighted to see me! We've started walking them at night... well with the storms the last couple of nights we only went for a short one tonite but its all good... a starts a start.

On Saturday I went to my ex-2ICs house for the night and drank a fair heap of Bundy Rum and just chatted and laughed and caught up... I watched the second half of the dissapointing Australia V England game and stayed the night.
Umm... do England actually have any skills? Or can they only kick for penalty points?
THEN I woke to the sad news that New Zealand also lost out in the Rugby World Cup :( What a sad way to start the day.

On Sunday I went and visited my Aunty and cousins. We got a STACK of food from my uncles work and also dog food and treats. Was great to see them... Zoe is growing up so much! Getting tall now!

This morning I got a fantastic call from Ireland from Oonagh and Colum. They were at a pub (Costigans?!) and there was a guy playing there that we know from Sober Lane and he was singing Roxanne.

Same guy as in the background of this clip:

Thats Colum and of course me (and Oonagh laughing!!)

But the buggers made me cry! I miss them! I think I may be Irish home sick! :( Oh and the guy in the band (who used to be our guy behind the bar at Sober Lane - the one who gave me free pizza every week) even said Hi to me! *sniff* I was tear-ing up at the bus stop! Lucky I had sunnies on!

Shana... you're still being a fecking spastic I see... just give it up already...
